The Yemeni Hodeidah Governorate is suffering from a stifling humanitarian crisis that has been exacerbated by the conflict that has been ongoing in the country for years. The severity of this crisis increased with the displacement of many families from other governorates to Hodeidah, which exacerbated the poor living situation for many people in the governorate.
In the face of these difficult circumstances, the Enjaz Foundation for Development took the initiative to implement a food distribution project for the poor and needy in Hodeidah Governorate, with support from the private sector, with the aim of alleviating the suffering of affected families and closing the hunger gap they face.
The project was implemented during the period from October 10 to December 30, 2016. The project also targeted the districts of Al-Khawkhah, Al-Tuhayta, Al-Mina, Bajil, Bayt Al-Faqih, Al-Jarahi, Al-Zaidiyah, Al-Hujaila, and Al-Hawk. 10,000 food baskets were distributed to the beneficiary families, which included basic food items. It was ensured that aid reached the beneficiaries in a fair and transparent manner.
