The Director General of Sayun District, Muhammad Awad Al-Amiri, launched the protection project to provide social cohesion for the Yemeni community, which is implemented by the United Nations Development Programme, in partnership with the Enjaz Foundation for Development.

The King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center funded the social protection project. The “Social Protection Project” seeks to enhance social cohesion in Yemeni communities.

In return, the project works to contribute to reducing vulnerability and enhancing the resilience and social cohesion of target communities affected by the crisis in Yemen by creating sustainable livelihoods and promoting peacebuilding initiatives.

The Director General of the Directorate, along with the Director General of the Office of Social Affairs and Labor, Ahmed Bahashwan, discussed the aspects of the project and gave a comprehensive explanation with the project coordinator, Raouf Al Ameri, which will continue over a full year.

The project’s outcomes included targeting 1,114 beneficiaries directly, and 800,000 beneficiaries indirectly in 6 directorates in the governorates of Hadramaut, Aden and Lahj through training programs and various qualitative activities.
